The targets of the English Language subject are to enable learners:

• to develop an ever-improving capability to use English to think and communicate.
• to acquire, develop and apply knowledge to respond and give expression to  experience.
• to cultivate an expanding understanding of how language is organized, used and learned.

Our aims are to develop students' reading, writing, speaking and listening skills and to build up their confidence in communicating in English. The programmes we have implemented are:

• Space Town Literacy Programme for Primary 1 to 2
• School-based Guided Reading Programme for Primary 3 to Primary 4
• School-based Speaking Programme for Primary 5 to Primary 6
• Improving Students’ Ability in Reading for Primary 1 to 6
• Assessment for Learning and Assessment as Learning in Writing for Primary 1 to 6
• Improving Students’ Thinking Skills and Inquiry Ability for Primary 1 to Primary 6
• Enhancing Learning and Teaching through E-learning for Primary 1 to Primary 6
• Text Grammar Teaching Approach for Primary 1 to 6
• Share Reading Mission for Primary 1 to 2
• Reading and Writing for Pleasure for Primary 3 to 6

• To increase students’ self-directed learning competence through inquiry-based learning
• To improve students’ language proficiency by developing quality English Language learning resources
• To increase students’ English learning motivation by creating a positive English learning
